Amazon DynamoDB Streams now supports attribute-based access control

News

This article announces attribute-based access control (ABAC) support for Amazon DynamoDB Streams, enabling tag-based IAM policy conditions for granular access control.

  • Attach up to 50 tags per stream and use them in IAM policy conditions
  • Grant or deny access to specific actions based on stream tags
  • Simplifies access management across multiple teams and applications
  • Stream tags managed independently from parent table tags
  • Supports environment segregation, team-based isolation, and compliance requirements
  • Available in all commercial AWS Regions and AWS GovCloud (US)
  • No additional cost for ABAC functionality

ABAC for DynamoDB Streams enables scalable, fine-grained access control without creating numerous individual IAM policies.
