Amazon DynamoDB Streams now supports timestamp-based stream processing
News
This article announces timestamp-based stream processing support for Amazon DynamoDB Streams, enabling you to begin reading stream records from a specific point in time.
- Start reading from any timestamp using the AT_TIMESTAMP shard iterator type
- Works with Amazon Kinesis Client Library through the DynamoDB Streams Kinesis adapter
- Supports recovery after interruptions, data replay for debugging, and backlog skipping
- Enables synchronization after point-in-time recovery exports
- Available in all commercial AWS Regions, GovCloud, and China Regions
- No additional charges beyond standard GetRecords API request costs
Timestamp-based stream processing eliminates the need to reprocess entire retained streams or miss records when resuming consumption.
