AWS Lambda introduces managed runtimes in public preview for Node.js 26 and Python 3.15, enabling early testing and feedback before general availability.
- Public preview allows breaking changes based on customer feedback before GA release
- Preview runtimes not covered by Lambda SLA or AWS Technical Support; unsuitable for production
- Functions automatically graduate to GA with no action required when runtime reaches GA
- Available in all AWS commercial regions, GovCloud, and China regions at standard Lambda rates
- Select from Lambda console or specify nodejs26.x or python3.15 in CLI, CloudFormation, SAM, or CDK
This approach gives customers, partners, and language communities time to validate compatibility and report issues before production-ready releases.
