AWS Lambda now supports Node.js 22 runtime, offering developers new features and improvements for serverless applications.
- Node.js 22 is in active LTS status and ready for production use
- New features include:
- ESM module loading with `require()`
- Default WebSocket support
- Improved Fetch API stability
- Experimental TypeScript syntax support
- Available through AWS Management Console, CLI, SDK, SAM, and CDK
- Runtime is based on Amazon Linux 2023
- AWS SDK for JavaScript v3 is now included
