This article announces that Amazon Aurora DSQL now supports foreign key constraints for enforcing referential integrity between tables.
- Add foreign key constraints to new and existing Aurora DSQL tables
- Enforce rules about how tables reference each other with FOREIGN KEY declarations
- Prevent writes that would violate referential integrity constraints
- Choose actions for referenced row deletion or updates: NO ACTION, RESTRICT, CASCADE, SET NULL, SET DEFAULT
- Available in all AWS Regions where Aurora DSQL is available
Foreign key constraints enable developers to maintain data consistency and enforce application rules directly at the database level in Aurora DSQL.
