Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB 3 now supports custom Python plugins that run on managed database instances to implement workload-specific logic without external infrastructure.
- Host plugin code in public or private repositories; engine fetches and executes on triggers
- Build custom data transformations, alerting, aggregation, and service integrations
- Plugins run in managed Python environment with standard library and vetted packages
- Configure via DB parameter groups and create triggers using CLI or HTTP API
- Private repositories authenticated with AWS Secrets Manager tokens
- Available in all AWS regions supporting Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB
Custom plugins enable moving workload-specific processing into the database, eliminating the need for separate external pipelines.
