Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB now supports backup and restore

Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB now supports customer-managed backup and restore capabilities, enabling users to protect their time-series data with flexible scheduling and recovery options.

  • Create on-demand backups or schedule automated recurring backups with hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, or custom frequencies
  • Define up to four automated backup configurations per resource with independent retention periods
  • First backup captures full database copy; subsequent backups are incremental to minimize performance impact
  • Restore backups to new resources or replace existing ones while preserving source configurations
  • Customer Managed KMS keys are maintained during backup and restore operations
  • Available for InfluxDB 2 and InfluxDB 3 engines across all AWS regions via Console, CLI, and API

This feature gives users complete control over their data protection strategy and disaster recovery planning.
