This article announces that Amazon API Gateway now supports configurable delivery destinations and larger log events for REST API execution logs, expanding beyond the previous 1 KB truncation limit.
- Route execution logs up to 1 MB to CloudWatch Logs, S3, or Firehose destinations
- Deliver logs to multiple destinations simultaneously for flexible log management
- Support for Apache Parquet format to S3 for cost-efficient long-term storage and analysis
- Structured JSON logs to CloudWatch Logs for real-time alerting and monitoring
- Available in all AWS Regions including GovCloud (US) with vended logs pricing
- Configure through API Gateway console, AWS CLI, or AWS CloudFormation
This enhancement provides greater visibility into API request and response data while enabling flexible log routing strategies for different use cases.
