AWS Batch now supports bulk job cancellation and termination

News

AWS Batch now supports bulk job cancellation and termination, enabling management of up to 50 jobs with a single API call.

  • CancelJobs, TerminateJobs, and TerminateServiceJobs APIs reduce operational complexity for large-scale workloads
  • CancelJobs works on jobs in SUBMITTED, PENDING, or RUNNABLE states
  • TerminateJobs and TerminateServiceJobs work on jobs in any state, including STARTING and RUNNING
  • ListJobs now returns isCancelled and isTerminated fields for easier lifecycle tracking
  • All APIs accept up to 50 job IDs and support individual and array jobs
  • Available in all AWS Regions where AWS Batch is offered

These new bulk operations simplify managing large-scale batch workloads by enabling group actions with per-job results in a single response.
