AWS Elastic Beanstalk introduces Cluster Mode to run multiple applications on shared infrastructure

News

AWS Elastic Beanstalk introduces Cluster Mode, a new deployment mode that lets you run and manage multiple applications on shared infrastructure powered by Amazon EKS.

  • Run multiple applications on pooled infrastructure instead of dedicated environments per application
  • Lower per-application compute costs as applications scale or application count grows
  • Supports event-driven autoscaling, OpenTelemetry observability, and AWS Secrets Manager integration
  • HTTPS enabled by default via AWS Certificate Manager
  • Deploy via Elastic Beanstalk console, AWS CLI, GitHub Action, or agent skills
  • Available in all commercial AWS Regions where Elastic Beanstalk is available
  • No additional charge; pay only for AWS resources consumed (EKS cluster and Auto Mode)

Cluster Mode complements Standard Mode, offering flexible deployment options while maintaining Elastic Beanstalk's full lifecycle management and operational simplicity.
