This article announces expanded availability of Amazon DynamoDB global tables with multi-Region strong consistency (MRSC) across five additional AWS Regions.
- Five new Regions added: Canada (Central), Europe (Stockholm), Europe (Spain), Asia Pacific (Mumbai), and Asia Pacific (Singapore)
- Total supported Regions increased to 15 with three-Region configuration options
- Supports three replicas or two replicas plus one witness Region configuration
- Enables cross-continent deployments spanning North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific
- Provides zero RPO with strongly consistent reads across Regions
- Ideal for applications requiring strict consistency like inventory tracking and order state management
