Amazon WorkSpaces Applications introduces unified graphics images
News
Amazon WorkSpaces Applications announces unified graphics images, a single image type compatible with all supported graphics instance families including G4dn, G5, G6, and G7.
- One image works across all supported GPU instance families instead of requiring separate images per generation
- Simplifies image management and enables easier adoption of newer GPU generations
- Console displays all compatible instance types for optimal price and performance selection
- Fleets can change instance types across supported families using console or UpdateFleet API
- Available in all AWS commercial and AWS GovCloud (US) Regions
- Upgrade existing graphics images via Managed Image Update or launch from unified base image
Unified graphics images reduce operational complexity and provide greater flexibility for managing GPU-based workspaces across different instance generations.
