Amazon Bedrock Managed Agents, powered by OpenAI, is now available in preview

This article announces the preview availability of Amazon Bedrock Managed Agents (BMA), a joint AWS-OpenAI solution for building agents optimized for OpenAI models within AWS.

• Built on customized OpenAI Agents API engineered as AWS-native with integrated AWS resources
• Manages model state, tool selection, code execution, and multi-step coordination automatically
• Durable sessions retain messages and intermediate results for resumable workflows
• Supports reusable skills, Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, and tool connections
• Each agent has its own IAM role with human approval gates and CloudTrail logging
• No additional charges during preview beyond underlying AWS resource consumption
• Available in US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), and US East (Ohio)
