Announcing AWS Lambda Web Functions
AWS News Blog
This article announces AWS Lambda Web Functions, a new form factor for running standard HTTP web applications on Lambda without rewriting code into event handlers.
- Deploy port-listening servers built with Express, Hono, Fastify, Next.js, or any Node.js framework with a single command
- Handles up to 128 concurrent requests per environment with multi-concurrent execution and active CPU billing
- Automatic scaling, multi-region distribution, and latency-based routing without infrastructure management
- Complements Lambda Event Functions and MicroVMs for comprehensive serverless application architecture
- Available in US East (N. Virginia), US East (Ohio), US West (Oregon), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), and Europe (Ireland)
- Integrates with Amazon CloudFront for hybrid static and dynamic content delivery
Lambda Web Functions simplifies web application deployment by eliminating adapters and infrastructure complexity while supporting standard frameworks and iterative development.
