AgentCore Gateway now supports Bedrock InvokeModel APIs and model fallback

This article announces that Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Gateway now supports InvokeModel APIs and model fallback routing for inference traffic.

• Point existing Bedrock SDK integrations at the gateway to reach any model provider through one governed endpoint
• Automatic model fallback routes requests to alternative models when primary destination is throttled or unreachable
• Built-in circuit breaker skips failing destinations to reduce latency and avoid repeated failed attempts
• Define ordered chains of alternative destinations with trigger conditions like throttling, server errors, or timeouts
• Available in all AWS Regions where AgentCore Gateway is available except China

These features enable agents to maintain availability without implementing individual retry logic in client code.
