Voice to Insight: Low-Latency Transcript Pipelines from Amazon Connect Customer to Amazon Redshift (Part 2)
Contact Center Blog
This article presents four architecture options for delivering Amazon Connect Customer conversational analytics transcripts to Amazon Redshift, with Part 2 focusing on real-time streaming and decision frameworks.
- Option D enables real-time streaming of partial transcripts during live calls (2-5 sec latency) using Kinesis and Redshift Streaming Ingestion
- Option A (EventBridge + Lambda) achieves 3-7 min latency for final transcripts with custom code
- Option B (Firehose) delivers 5-10 min latency with built-in error handling and auto-scaling
- Option C (Analytics Data Lake) provides fully managed ~15 min latency with zero custom code
- Redshift schema designed with SUPER data types, DISTSTYLE KEY, and materialized views for time-range queries
- Decision framework guides architecture selection based on latency needs, data completeness, and operational capacity
- Cost ranges from ~$11/month (Option C) to ~$50/month (Option D) for 1,000 calls/hour
- Production hardening requires VPC endpoints, KMS encryption, IAM policies, X-Ray tracing, and disaster recovery planning
Organizations should start with Option C (Analytics Data Lake), measure latency requirements, then evolve to lower-latency patterns only when business case justifies added complexity.
