AWS accounts now support phone number verification

AWS Accounts now support phone number verification for primary contact phone numbers using SMS one-time passcodes.
- Verify phone numbers via SMS OTP through AWS Management Console or SendPhoneNumberVerification API
- VerifyPhoneNumber API validates and persists verified status after OTP entry
- GetContactInformation API exposes verification status for confirmed verified numbers
- AWS Organizations members inherit verified status from management account when numbers match
- Member accounts changing their own numbers must complete verification separately
- Available in all AWS commercial regions
Phone number verification enhances account security and simplifies management across AWS Organizations by enabling status inheritance.
