AWS improves regional resiliency for root user sign-in
News
AWS improves regional resiliency for root user sign-in by distributing authentication traffic across multiple regions.
- Root user sign-in now served across US East (N. Virginia), US East (Ohio), and US West (Oregon)
- Reduces reliance on single region and improves resiliency during service disruptions
- Automatic routing to supported regions without user intervention required
- CloudTrail ConsoleLogin events recorded in region that processed the sign-in request
- Update monitoring and alerting to cover all three regions for full visibility
This enhancement improves AWS account security and availability by eliminating single points of failure for root user authentication.
