AWS IAM Identity Center now supports cross-Region trusted identity propagation
News
AWS IAM Identity Center now supports cross-Region trusted identity propagation, enabling user identities to be carried across AWS Regions automatically.
- User identity context propagates to AWS services in different Regions without requiring broad IAM roles
- Maintains fine-grained access control based on individual users and group associations
- Enables comprehensive audit logging of user access across Regions
- Available at no additional cost in all Regions where IAM Identity Center is available
- Eliminates need to consolidate services into single Region or use overly permissive roles
Cross-Region trusted identity propagation provides greater flexibility for multi-Region workload deployment while preserving security and auditability.
