- Enables proxy creation across multiple AWS regions for global databases
- Improves application scalability and database connection efficiency
- Automatically handles failover by connecting to standby database instances
- Supports read/write workloads in primary regions and read-only workloads in secondary regions
- Provides secure credential management through AWS Secrets Manager and IAM
The feature is available for various database engines, including Aurora MySQL and PostgreSQL, and can be easily configured through the Amazon RDS console.
