AWS Transfer Family announces built-in PGP decryption for file uploads

AWS Transfer Family has introduced built-in PGP decryption support for file uploads across SFTP, FTPS, and FTP protocols to Amazon S3 or Amazon EFS.

  • Enables automatic decryption of files encrypted with PGP keys before upload
  • Supports managed workflows for post-upload file processing
  • Configurable PGP decryption tasks without writing custom code
  • Uses AWS Secrets Manager to manage decryption keys
  • Allows single or user-specific PGP key configurations
  • Provides monitoring and auditing via Amazon CloudWatch logs
  • Available in all AWS Regions where Transfer Family is supported

This feature simplifies sensitive data exchange by providing an easy, secure method for automated file decryption during transfers.
