AWS has announced the general availability of Amazon EC2 M7a instances, a new compute offering powered by 4th Gen AMD EPYC processors.
- Delivers up to 50% higher performance compared to M6a instances
- Features 4th Gen AMD EPYC processors with maximum 3.7 GHz frequency
- Includes new processor capabilities like AVX3-512, VNNI, and bfloat16
- Uses DDR5 memory with 2.25x more memory throughput
- Offers 12 instance sizes from medium to 48xlarge, including bare-metal option
- Built on AWS Nitro System
Ideal for financial applications, gaming, simulation modeling, and mid-size data stores. Currently available in US East, US West, and Europe (Ireland) regions.
