AWS has announced the general availability of new Amazon EC2 M8a instances powered by 5th Gen AMD EPYC processors, offering significant performance improvements:
- Up to 30% higher performance compared to M7a instances
- Up to 19% better price-performance
- 45% more memory bandwidth
- 60% faster for GroovyJVM benchmark
- Up to 39% faster for Cassandra benchmark
Key features include 12 instance sizes, SAP certification, and suitability for financial applications, gaming, rendering, and application development. The instances are available in US East (Ohio), US West (Oregon), and Europe (Spain) regions.
