AWS has announced the general availability of Amazon EC2 M8a instances, a new addition to the general-purpose M instance family powered by 5th Generation AMD EPYC (Turin) processors.
- Offers up to 30% higher performance and 19% better price performance compared to M7a instances
- Provides 45% more memory bandwidth and up to 75 Gbps networking bandwidth
- Supports instance bandwidth configuration for flexible resource allocation
- Available in ten virtualized sizes and two bare metal options
- Supports up to 192 vCPUs with 768GiB RAM
M8a instances are ideal for web hosting, microservices, databases, enterprise workloads, and development environments, offering a balanced mix of compute, memory, and networking capabilities.
