Assign billing of your shared Amazon EC2 On-Demand Capacity Reservations
News
This article discusses a new feature for Amazon EC2 On-Demand Capacity Reservations (ODCR) that allows you to assign the billing of unused capacity to any account within your organization that the reservation is shared with.
Specifically, the article covers:
- Capacity Reservations help you reserve compute capacity and share it across multiple accounts.
- Previously, any unused capacity from a shared reservation was billed to the account that owns the reservation.
- With this new feature, you can assign the billing of unused capacity to any account the reservation is shared with.
- Billing for instances running inside the Capacity Reservation is still assigned to the respective accounts that launched them.
- This feature is available at no additional cost via the AWS Management Console, SDKs, and CLI.
