Request future dated Amazon EC2 Capacity Reservations

AWS has announced a new feature for Amazon EC2 Capacity Reservations that allows customers to request reserved compute capacity for a future date.
- Customers can now create Capacity Reservations with a specified future start date
- Enables advance planning and securing compute capacity for critical scaling events
- Users can specify needed capacity, start date, and minimum reservation duration
- EC2 will approve and schedule the reservation to activate on the chosen date
- Available in all AWS commercial regions, China regions, and GovCloud at no extra cost
This feature provides customers with more flexibility and peace of mind when planning for future compute resource needs.
