Deprecation of AWS Application Discovery Service Discovery Connector

This article announces the deprecation of the AWS Application Discovery Service Discovery Connector, which is used to collect information about VMware vCenter Server hosts and virtual machines (VMs).

  • AWS Application Discovery Service Discovery Connector will be deprecated on November 17, 2025
  • Customers are recommended to use the AWS Application Discovery Service Agentless Collector for VMware discovery and other on-premises data collection
  • Historic data collected by the Discovery Connector will remain available through AWS Migration Hub and Application Discovery Service APIs
  • The Agentless Collector supports VMware, databases, analytics servers, and network connections, with plans to support additional platforms
  • The Agentless Collector is provided at no cost to customers
