Announcing new Amazon CloudWatch Metrics for AWS Lambda Event Source Mappings (ESMs)

AWS Lambda has introduced new Amazon CloudWatch metrics for Lambda Event Source Mappings (ESMs) that provide enhanced visibility into event processing across different event sources.
- Supports event sources like Amazon SQS, Amazon Kinesis, and Amazon DynamoDB
- New metrics help diagnose and monitor event processing issues
- Seven new CloudWatch metrics added, including:
- PolledEventCount (events read by ESM)
- InvokedEventCount (events invoking Lambda function)
- FilteredOutEventCount (events filtered out)
- FailedInvokeEventCount (events failing to invoke)
- Generally available in all AWS Commercial Regions
- Can be enabled through multiple AWS management interfaces
This feature allows customers to more effectively track and troubleshoot event processing in their Lambda functions.
