AWS AppSync launches AI gateway capabilities with new Amazon Bedrock integration in AppSync GraphQL
News
AWS AppSync has launched a new integration with Amazon Bedrock, enabling developers to use generative AI capabilities directly through GraphQL APIs.
- Supports synchronous invocations (10 seconds or less) to foundation models
- Allows direct calls to Bedrock runtime using converse and invokeModel APIs
- Enables interaction with Anthropic models like Claude 3.5 Haiku and Sonnet
- Supports Amazon Titan models for tasks like embeddings, summaries, and action item extraction
- Longer AI workflows can still use AWS Lambda functions and WebSocket subscriptions
The new Bedrock data source is available in all AWS regions where AppSync is supported, providing developers with seamless AI integration in their GraphQL APIs.
