AWS Database Migration Service (AWS DMS) now supports Data Masking, a feature that allows users to protect sensitive data during database migrations.
- Enables column-level data transformation to comply with data protection regulations like GDPR
- Supports three data masking techniques:
- Digit randomization
- Digit masking
- Hashing
- Available for all endpoints in DMS Classic and DMS Serverless (version 3.5.4)
- Automatically masks specified data portions
This feature helps organizations maintain data privacy and security during database migrations by transforming sensitive information.
