Data Exports for FOCUS 1.0 is now in general availability

AWS announced the general availability of Data Exports for FOCUS 1.0, a standardized cloud cost and usage data specification supported by the FinOps Foundation.

  • Provides standardized cost columns like ListCost, BilledCost, and EffectiveCost
  • Uses consistent schema across different cloud providers
  • Uses a common set of values for fields like service category and usage quantity
  • Reduced specification conformance gaps from 19 in preview to 11 in GA release
  • Helps simplify cloud financial management and cost reporting across multiple sources

The FOCUS 1.0 export is recommended for organizations looking to standardize cost data across different cloud vendors, while CUR 2.0 remains best for most detailed AWS cost analysis.
