AWS has launched Invoice Configuration, a new feature that allows organizations to customize their AWS invoicing process by grouping accounts based on internal business structures.
- Enables creation of Invoice Units representing different business entities within an AWS Organization
- Allows designation of specific accounts to receive invoices for each business entity
- Optional purchase order association per Invoice Unit
- Supports visualization of charges through Cost Categories in Cost Explorer
- Can be configured via AWS Billing Console, SDKs, or CLI
- Available in all public AWS Regions except GovCloud and China regions
The feature aims to streamline invoice processing and provide more granular financial tracking for organizations with complex account structures.
