AWS simplifies the use of third-party block storage arrays with AWS Outposts

AWS has expanded AWS Outposts functionality by allowing customers to attach third-party block storage volumes from NetApp and Pure Storage directly to Amazon EC2 instances.
- Customers can now attach external volumes from NetApp and Pure Storage to EC2 instances on Outposts
- Enables leveraging existing storage investments with cloud operational capabilities
- Compatible with Outposts racks and 2U servers in most AWS Regions
- No additional charge for the new feature
- Can be configured via AWS Management Console or CLI
This enhancement provides customers with more flexibility in data storage and management while maintaining the consistent hybrid cloud experience of AWS Outposts.
