Compute Blog

AWS has announced a simplified integration for using third-party block storage with AWS Outposts, enabling easier attachment of external storage volumes from NetApp and Pure Storage directly through the AWS Management Console.

  • Supports both Outposts rack and Outposts server configurations
  • Compatible with NVMe-over-TCP and iSCSI connection protocols
  • Supports Microsoft Windows Server 2022 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9
  • Requires an AWS Enterprise Support Plan or Enterprise On-Ramp Support Plan
  • Allows launching EC2 instances with attached external storage volumes through a streamlined workflow

This integration simplifies cloud migration, provides advanced data management features, and enables seamless use of third-party storage solutions with AWS Outposts infrastructure.
