AWS Outposts now supports external block volumes from Dell and HPE storage arrays

AWS has expanded Outposts functionality by enabling support for external block volumes from Dell and HPE storage arrays with Amazon EC2 instances.
- Customers can now use boot and data volumes from Dell PowerStore and HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000
- Supports authenticated and encrypted volumes
- Complements existing support for NetApp and Pure Storage arrays
- Allows customers to leverage existing on-premises storage investments
- Provides centralized OS management and advanced data management features
AWS offers automation scripts to help customers set up external block volumes, and the feature is available at no additional charge on Outposts 2U servers and racks in supported AWS Regions.
