Amazon Aurora has released support for new PostgreSQL versions, including 16.6, 15.10, 14.15, 13.18, and 12.22.
- Supports PostgreSQL community versions released on November 21, 2024
- Includes Aurora-specific improvements like:
- Improved read replica upgrades
- New Babelfish features
- Enhanced Global Database cross-region resiliency
- Available in all commercial AWS and GovCloud regions (except China)
- PostgreSQL 12 standard support ends February 28, 2025
- Users can upgrade or use RDS Extended Support for PostgreSQL 12
Customers can initiate minor version upgrades by modifying their DB cluster through AWS documentation.
