Amazon CloudWatch Database Insights now offers execution plan capture for Aurora PostgreSQL, providing enhanced performance monitoring capabilities.
- Collects query execution plans for top SQL queries running on Aurora PostgreSQL instances
- Allows visualization and comparison of multiple query execution plans
- Helps identify performance degradation caused by changes in execution plans
- Available exclusively in CloudWatch Database Insights Advanced mode
- Can be enabled through RDS service console, AWS APIs, or AWS SDK
This feature enables database users to quickly analyze and troubleshoot query performance by examining how database query optimizers select execution strategies.
