AWS DataSync has added Kerberos authentication support for SMB file servers, enhancing security options for data transfer.
- Enables secure authentication for SMB file servers in Microsoft Windows environments
- Supports any Kerberos server implementing protocol version 5, including Microsoft Active Directory
- Complements existing NTLM authentication methods
- Available in all AWS Regions where DataSync is offered
- Helps users securely transfer data between AWS storage services and on-premises systems
This update provides more robust authentication options for organizations transferring data using AWS DataSync.
