AWS DataSync now supports shared VPCs

News

AWS DataSync now supports shared Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), enabling data transfers across AWS accounts using centralized networking infrastructure.

  • Create DataSync agents using subnets shared across accounts via AWS Resource Access Manager (RAM)
  • Single VPC endpoint in central account serves all accounts with shared subnet access
  • Reduces IP address consumption and eliminates per-account endpoint overhead
  • Supports both Enhanced and Basic mode agent-based tasks
  • Available in all AWS Regions except AWS Secret Regions
  • Single endpoint can now serve multiple subnets within a single account

Shared VPC support simplifies multi-account networking by centralizing VPC endpoint management and reducing operational complexity.
