Announcing the general availability of AWS .NET OpenTelemetry libraries

AWS has announced the general availability of new .NET OpenTelemetry libraries to enhance observability for .NET applications on AWS.

  • Four new packages released: OpenTelemetry.Instrumentation.AWS, OpenTelemetry.Instrumentation.AWSLambda, OpenTelemetry.Resources.AWS, and OpenTelemetry.Extensions.AWS
  • Provides improved telemetry data collection and instrumentation for AWS services
  • Supports resource detection for EC2, Elastic Beanstalk, ECS, and EKS
  • Enables trace context propagation via AWS X-Ray
  • Simplifies integration with OpenTelemetry using new extension methods

The release aims to provide developers with deeper insights and enhanced visibility into .NET application performance on AWS, leveraging the OpenTelemetry standard.
