Amazon ECS now allows users to update existing services from short to long Amazon Resource Names (ARNs) without recreating the service.

<li>Previously, services with short ARNs required deletion and recreation to be tagged</li>
<li>Now users can migrate services to long ARNs with two simple steps:

<li>Opt-in to long ARN format for tasks and services</li>
<li>Use TagResource API to tag the service</li>
</ol>

<li>Improved resource visibility</li>
<li>More granular IAM access policies</li>
</ul>

<li>Available in all AWS regions via Console, CLI, and API</li>
