Amazon ECS adds support for updating capacity provider configuration for ECS services

Amazon ECS has introduced a new feature that allows users to update capacity providers for existing ECS services without recreating the entire service.

• Customers can now modify compute configurations programmatically via UpdateService API or AWS Management Console
• Previously, changing compute configuration required recreating the entire service, which could cause disruption
• Users can now seamlessly switch between compute options like EC2 and Fargate without operational overhead
• The update capability is available across all AWS Regions through console, API, SDK, CLI, and CloudFormation
