AWS Secrets Manager increases the API Requests per Second limits

AWS Secrets Manager has increased the API request limits for two key operations:

  • GetSecretValue now supports up to 10,000 requests per second
  • DescribeSecret now supports up to 40,000 requests per second
  • These increased limits are available at no additional cost
  • Automatically applied to all AWS accounts
  • Available in all regions where Secrets Manager operates

The enhanced API limits will help customers improve performance and scalability when retrieving and describing secrets in their AWS environments.
