Amazon WorkSpaces Pools now supports FIPS 140-2 validated endpoints, providing enhanced cryptographic security for user streaming sessions.

  • FIPS 140-2 is a U.S. government standard for cryptographic module security
  • Enables encryption for sensitive or regulated workloads
  • Can be enabled via AWS Console by setting endpoint encryption to FIPS 140-2 Validated Mode
  • Supported in 4 AWS regions: GovCloud (US-East and US-West), US East (N. Virginia), and US West (Oregon)
  • Requires directory to be in STOPPED state and preferred protocol set to TCP

This update provides enhanced security for WorkSpaces Pools, meeting strict government encryption standards.
