Amazon EC2 Allowed AMIs now integrates with AWS Config
News
Amazon EC2 Allowed AMIs now integrates with AWS Config, providing enhanced monitoring and governance for Amazon Machine Images (AMIs).
- New AWS Config rule enables automatic detection of instances launched with non-approved AMIs
- Helps track instance launch patterns and identify potential compliance issues
- Scans existing and new instances for unapproved AMIs
- Rule is disabled by default and can be enabled via AWS CLI, SDKs, or Console
- Works with Allowed AMIs' audit-mode functionality to provide insights before enforcing strict controls
This integration simplifies AMI governance by providing proactive monitoring and detection of unauthorized instance launches.
