Amazon Inspector has expanded its ECR container image scanning capabilities with new features focused on security and vulnerability detection.
- Added support for scanning scratch, distroless, and Chainguard container base images
- Extended scanning to additional ecosystems including Go, Oracle JDK, Apache Tomcat, and Node.js
- Now identifies vulnerabilities in third-party software components
- Introduces detection of discontinued operating systems on EC2 instances and container images
