Amazon Inspector has enhanced its container security capabilities by introducing automatic mapping of Amazon ECR images to running containers in ECS and EKS environments.
- Automatically identifies which container images are actively in use
- Helps prioritize patching of vulnerable images associated with running workloads
- Provides details on image usage, last usage date, and running clusters
- Allows control of image monitoring duration after last use
- Integrates findings with EventBridge for easier tracking
This feature is available at no additional cost for Amazon Inspector customers scanning container images in ECR, helping improve security and reduce time to remediation for containerized applications.
