Amazon Inspector enhances container security by mapping Amazon ECR images to running containers

Amazon Inspector has introduced new features to enhance container security by mapping Amazon ECR images to running containers:
- Maps ECR images to running containers in ECS and EKS
- Allows prioritizing vulnerabilities based on actual container usage
- Provides visibility into cluster ARNs and number of pods/tasks running an image
- Extends vulnerability scanning to minimal base images and additional ecosystems
- Supports cross-account vulnerability management
Key capabilities include monitoring container image lifecycles, runtime-aware finding details, and comprehensive security coverage across different container environments. The feature is available in all AWS regions at no additional cost.
