Amazon Kinesis Data Streams now supports Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6), enabling customers to make API requests over dual-stack public endpoints.
- Customers can now use either IPv6 or IPv4 when sending requests
- Support is available in most AWS Regions, excluding AWS GovCloud and China Regions
- IPv6 provides significantly more available network addresses
- Allows easier writing and reading of data streams from IPv6-enabled devices and networks
- Maintains Kinesis Data Streams' ability to capture, process, and store real-time data at scale
The update provides more flexibility for customers with modern networking infrastructure by supporting the expanded addressing capabilities of IPv6.
