CloudWatch RUM now supports JavaScript source maps for easier error debugging

News

Amazon CloudWatch RUM has enhanced its JavaScript error debugging capabilities by adding support for JavaScript source maps, which help developers identify and resolve front-end performance issues more effectively.

  • Converts minified JavaScript errors into readable stack traces
  • Enables developers to trace errors back to original source code
  • Allows searching unminified stack traces in RUM events
  • Helps analyze error trends across multiple sessions
  • Requires customers to enable source map support and provide S3 URI for source map storage

This feature is available in all CloudWatch RUM regions, with customers paying standard S3 storage and API call costs. Developers can refer to AWS documentation for detailed implementation instructions.
